For sure you should have a manual it has many pages of terrific information…
Number one it’s gonna show you what should be in the Kit… these units should hve sensors for sensing air leaks and for sensing steam traps…
These units can also detect corona in electrical cabinets but are mainly for detecting bearing near failure…and Air leaks ..
The next thing we want to look at in your kit are extension rods…These can get to a bearing 36 inches away to stay safely away from rotating equipment…
On the actual gun itself, is the battery up to snuff?
Are the ear pads in good shape? We have a good selection of replacement pads, so everyone unit goes out with a new pair of ear pads on the headset…
When you’re looking at the gun does it have all the sensors? You’ll find on eBay some units have no sensors at all it’s virtually a worthless tool… this unit will sense for air leaks the other one will sense for steam traps
Make sure the battery is in good shape… Every unit we refurbish gets brand new batteries so that you don’t need to worry… With reasonable use they last for a year.
